Medical Students, I bow to thee
Thank you.If it was not for the medical students, If it was left on to the IITians/IIMians, this nation would have gone to the doldrums. And unfortunately the last statement is completely true.
Despite the fact that all IITian todays gets a gut wrenching feeling whenever reservation is mentioned, no IIT could take up the issue or have their protest registered in a manner that people be ready to hear them.
The problems in IIT are many, but the biggest in my IIT, unfortunately is intra insti politics. Its terrible that such a thing can hamper the protest when we should all unite. What we need is to learn from the medicos' , how they have forgotten their rivalries and those who haven't have turned their rivalries to better each other in having themself heard.

This reservation is just one step before the reservation in the private sector.
A step which if taken would destroy the basis of Indian soceity. If there is a partition of India in such a situation, what'll happen can only be surmised.
This reservation would create 2 Indias' the pro-reservation India that will destroy itself with its Leninist inefficiency.
The other India would be the society which people like me would go to . All men in this India
would have equal oppurtunities. Based on the american norm, although this society will not be utopian. Things like casteism, superstition, corruption would be thrown out of this
society.
Of course this second society may never happen. If the IIT's have their way, all of us would be part of the first society.
